Army Denies Dakota Pipeline Permit

In a victory for protesters, the Army has stated that it has denied a permit for the North Dakota Access Pipeline to run under Lake Oahe. The Army’s assistant secretary, Jo-Ellen Darcy, will not grant a necessary permit to developers to move forward with their existing route. However, President-elect Donald Trump supports the pipeline’s construction and could reverse the decision if necessary.
