Confidential information obtained by the Washington Post suggests that the Pentagon covered up an internal study that showed $125 billion in expenses for administrative purposes. The report may have been hidden in fear of Congress reducing the defense budget upon learning how the department uses its funds. More than 1 million people were employed for back-office operations, while about 298,000 were employed for military purposes.
